THE CALL OF DESTINY
A Child Born for a Greater Purpose
On 13 September 1975, in the quiet village of Bhogawan, Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, Sarvesh Jain was born to Shri Virendra Kumar Jain and Shrimati Sarita Devi Jain, growing alongside his brother Sachin and sister Sapna. From the very first, he seemed different — a child whose gaze often lingered beyond the ordinary, as if the world whispered secrets, only he could hear.
While other children played, Sarvesh wandered in thought, his mind probing, his heart restless for meaning. Life took him to Lucknow to prepare for the future, yet destiny had a lesson none could anticipate. At eighteen, standing before the funeral pyre of his best friend’s brother, he confronted death with unflinching clarity In that instant, ambition felt hollow, and a single, burning question consumed him: what truly matters when life can vanish so suddenly?
Not long after, news of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination swept through the nation, a stark reminder of how fragile existence could be. Each death, each sudden loss, each echo of mortality became a flame that stoked the fire within him — the uncertainty of life crystallizing into a moment of profound vairaagy (asceticism), a realization that nothing in the ordinary world could fully satisfy the soul’s longing. These experiences, multiple instances of death, carved a path toward introspection and purpose that few could ever imagine.
With courage few could imagine, he stepped away from the familiar, setting out on a journey to uncover truths that lay far beyond ordinary life — a journey that would reveal the extraordinary purpose of a soul born to seek something greater.
A Vision That Changed Everything
One night, a dream appeared that would define his destiny. He saw two Jain monks, one radiant, serene, and unknown — yet profoundly familiar. The vision awakened something in him that words cannot capture: a call that demanded response.
Days later, he discovered that the monk in his dream was none other than Acharya Shri Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, a spiritual luminary destined to guide him. From that moment, his restlessness turned into resolve. He decided to embark on a journey — not for adventure, not for recognition, but to find the Guru who had appeared to him in a dream.
His search led him to the sacred Kundalpur Tirth Kshetra, where the tranquil surroundings mirrored the purity of his aspiration. There, dream met reality, and Sarvesh found his spiritual guide. The seeker had found the Master; a disciple had discovered his path.
“Some journeys begin with a step.
Rare journeys begin with a vision.”.
Under the gentle yet profound guidance of Acharya Shri Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, Sarvesh embraced renunciation.
Kshullak Diksha (9 August 1997, at Nemawar), Ailak Diksha (5 January 1998, at Nemawar) and Finally, on 11 February 1998 (Magh Sud 15, Wednesday) at Muktagiri Ji, renouncing worldly life, he embraced Muni Diksha, receiving the sacred name: MUNI SHRI PRANAMYA SAGAR JI MAHARAJ
Notably, he became the first disciple from Uttar Pradesh to undertake this path, setting a precedent of devotion, discipline, and spiritual aspiration for generations to follow.
Through years of rigorous discipline and devotion to his Guru, he demonstrated qualities that inspired not just admiration but trust. Recognizing his potential, Acharya Shri entrusted him with the sacred responsibility
- To spread Dharma
- To awaken society
- To serve humanity
Thus began the life of a monk whose vision would transcend borders and inspire generations.
